Orchestration of an MTP plant

Last week, we were on-site at the Novotel Frankfurt City, where the VDI-Expertenforum: Modulare Anlagen in der Prozessindustrie was in full swing! The atmosphere was buzzing with innovation as industry leaders gathered to reduce time-to-market significantly and react faster to dynamic market shifts.

Plug-and-Produce Solutions for a Dynamic Market

Members of the guideline committee VDI 2776, under the leadership of Frank Stenger/Evonik and Vivien Manning/VDI, presented the core of the guidelines. The limitations of traditional, rigidly planned facilities were a major talking point on the floor. We actively addressed these constraints by diving deep into:

  • Practical Guideline Application: Presentations centered on the practical applications of the VDI 2776 guidelines (Parts 1–5).
  • Economic Viability: Experts were demonstrating real-world integration criteria and cost-efficiency of modular manufacturing.
  • Orchestration in Action: Sessions were breaking down the planning, automation, and orchestration of decentralized modular systems, with our own Dirk Kirschneck having provided firsthand insights from his perspective as a committee member.

Superior Processing for Tomorrow

At Microinnova, the “plug-and-produce” philosophy has been integrated into our daily business activities. We demonstrate how predefined, independent functional modules, powered by standardized interfaces like Module Type Package (MTP), can drastically slash time-to-market, seamlessly scale operations, and reduce engineering complexity with our plant systems FlowKiloLab® and FlowTonPlant®. Precise processing based on a continuous manufacturing approach enables superior processing for tomorrow. The realization of fluid processing in manufacturing uses an advanced level of process capability, leading to more sustainable processes.
