We’re thrilled to see the results of this collaborative effort now published! 🎉
At Microinnova Engineering, we’re deeply committed to driving innovation in pharmaceutical process development and this study on Model Predictive Control (MPC) for agitated liquid-liquid extractions is a great example of what’s possible when applied research meets industrial needs.
Together with our partners at RCPE – Research Center Pharmaceutical Engineering GmbH and Thermo Fisher Scientific, and with the expertise of Joscha Böhm, Stephan Sacher, Peter Poechlauer, Dirk Kirschneck, Martin Horn, and Martin Steinberger, we’ve developed a control algorithm capable of running directly on industrial process control systems. This makes it possible to significantly reduce API waste and deviations in impurities, supporting more resource-efficient, robust, and sustainable pharmaceutical production.
We’re excited to see how this approach can help bridge the gap between advanced modeling and real-world manufacturing environments.
