Microinnova successfully converted a highly exothermic alkoxylation reaction from batch to a continuous process, achieving a process intensification factor of 700. In the traditional batch process, reaction heat was controlled by slow dosing, leading to a reaction time of 12 hours.

By transitioning to a continuous process, the reaction time was reduced to just 1 minute. Enhanced mixing quality improved heat transfer rates and enabled better heat control, allowing operations at higher temperatures and pressures. The final modular mini plant, with a capacity of up to 20 liters per hour and temperatures up to 250°C, offers flexibility with optional residence time adjustments. This innovation significantly boosts efficiency and adaptability for multi-purpose production systems.
